Winthrop Prof Gary Jeffrey, Chairman and Medical Director
Winthrop Professor Gary Jeffrey has been Chairman of the Board of the Liver Foundation of Western Australia since 2009. He obtained his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Western Australia and completed his clinical speciality training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 1989.
He has been on staff at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the University of Western Australia since then with the majority of his practice involving liver diseases and Liver Transplantation. He became the Medical Director of the Western Australian Liver transplantation service in 1999. He has an active research team working in the field of identification, prevention and treatment of liver diseases. His work has enabled him to experience clinical medicine and research in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and New Zealand.
Prof Luc Delriviere – Surgical Director
Professor Luc Delrivière has been the Head of Service of the WA Liver & Kidney (SCGH) Surgical Transplant Service since its inception in October 2004. Mr Delrivière trained in Belgium and has many years of international experience spent in Tokyo, Brisbane, Paris, London and Cambridge. Mr Delrivière specialises in liver & kidney transplant surgery as well as surgical liver resection.
Heightened community awareness of Organ Donation and Transplantation in WA is one of Mr Delrivière’s objectives.
Mr. Gerry Doney – Treasurer
Gerry Doney has been in financial and estate planning for the past thirty years. Throughout Gerry’s extensive career, he has had the pleasure of meeting, assisting and conducting business with people from all walks of life. He is highly regarded in the industry for providing quality and personalised service to his clients. He is the centre of influence for successful business relationships formed between like- minded professionals within the Perth community. A high achiever, Gerry has a passion and genuine interest in serving people.
Ms Amber Stanton – Board Member
Amber Stanton focuses her practice on corporate and commercial law and corporate governance, particularly Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules issues, with a strong background in the energy and natural resources sector.
An experienced M&A lawyer, she advises clients on all forms of public and private mergers and acquisitions, including structuring, due diligence, drafting of documents and negotiation.
She also has significant experience in equity capital markets, joint ventures, reconstructions and general corporate regulatory compliance.
Ms Shoma Mittra – Coordinator
Shoma Mittra comes with a background in media and journalism and looks after the day to day running of the foundation. She worked in the Liver Transplant Unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for a number of years.
